Founded by artist and designer Ann Yancy, Ro Sham Beaux is a Charleston-based lighting studio known for creating lighting fixtures that feel more like sculptural objects. Ann studied sculpture, metalsmithing, and jewelry at the Portland School of Art—an artistic foundation that continues to shape the brand’s distinctive point of view.
After years of designing custom lighting for architects and interior designers, Ann launched Ro Sham Beaux in 2010 with the desire to bring those one-of-a-kind, highly crafted pieces into a broader design world—without losing their soul.
Today, Ro Sham Beaux is celebrated for its beaded chandeliers, pendants, sconces, and lanterns that combine organic materials—rattan, quartz, glass, linen, and metal—with meticulous construction and an unmistakable sense of hand. Every fixture feels collected, layered, and quietly luminous.
The studio works across scales, from singular statement pieces to full hospitality installations. Finishes, bead palettes, proportions, and shade materials can all be customized, allowing each project to reflect its architecture and atmosphere while maintaining a cohesive language of craft.

Ro Sham Beaux offers multiple ways to work, depending on timeline, budget, and level of customization.
1. Ready-to-Ship Collection
The studio maintains an extensive inventory of their signature chandeliers, pendants, and sconces. These pieces can often ship quickly and provide an immediate solution when schedules are tight.
2. Made-to-Order Customization
Existing designs can be tailored to your project—adjusting scale, proportion, frame finishes, bead colors, and shade materials. This allows designers to achieve a highly specific look while working from proven forms.
3. Fully Bespoke Lighting
For projects that call for something entirely new, Ro Sham Beaux works from inspiration images, architectural drawings, or conceptual sketches to design custom fixtures from the ground up. The process is collaborative and exploratory—brainstorming with the design team until the right form, material mix, and scale are achieved.
Production & Pricing Tiers
Depending on scope and budget, fixtures can be produced through three levels of manufacturing:
U.S. Made (Charleston Studio): Fully handcrafted and assembled in Charleston.
Hybrid: Structural components fabricated overseas, with beading and final assembly completed in Charleston.
Global: Select designs fully produced overseas for larger-scale or budget-driven programs.
