Start by browsing our ready-to-ship collection for inspiration, or send us an image or sketch of what you have in mind. From there, the Rutledge Atelier team will guide you through every step—from initial concept and color selection to final production.

Our makers work on a project basis, not by size, so whether you need a small accent or a room-defining statement piece, the process remains the same. Lead time for custom rugs is approximately 4 months from approval to delivery.

  •   Absolutely. We offer custom rugs crafted by a small, family-run workshop in Turkey. These durable, sustainably made pieces require a 50% non-refundable deposit and take approximately 3 months to complete. Work with R.A. to get all the custom information you need.

  •  Spot-clean with cold water or a natural detergent (diluted Castile soap works best). Blot spills—don’t rub. Avoid carpet sprays, vinegar, and baking soda, which can discolor the fibers. For major cleaning, professionally clean with natural products every 5 years. Use a light canister vacuum (avoid heavy-duty vacuums); vacuum the underside occasionally. We recommend FiberSeal treatment for added protection.

  •  No problem! Email us and we’ll help you find a rug in the perfect dimensions—or guide your custom design process.

  •  Our handmade vintage rugs are woven from premium wool or wool-cotton blends, offering both durability and authentic texture.

  •  Ready-to-ship items typically go out within 3–7 business days. Custom or vintage pieces that require refurbishment may take up to 3 months

  • You can return most items within 7 days. Email us with the reason, and we’ll provide return instructions. Customers cover return shipping, and items must be returned in their original condition. Vintage items may show natural age-related wear.

  • Not listed, but we can arrange thoughtfully packaged shipping and suggest professional installers for larger pieces. Let us know if you'd prefer white-glove service.
